Our Mission:
Rising Starz Sports Academy is dedicated to the development of young athletes. Our goal is to help an athlete reach his or her potential through appropriate training methods based on age and development.
We strive to be a place that athletes love to come to to feel safe, improve their skills and have a good time doing it. While our training approach is no nonsense the goal is to have fun and to foster a love of movement and getting better.
My goal is to get to know the kids and build a level of trust where they know I care about them and want the best for them in sports and life.
Dan Purpura grew up in the Chicago area. He played baseball at the University of Illinois-Chicago and graduated with a degree in Finance.
From 1979-1985 he played professionally in the San Diego, Baltimore and Milwaukee organizations. After his baseball career ended he was an options trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. His family moved to Bozeman in 2000. In 2003 he was certified as a personal trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Dan began coaching and running baseball clinics and camps in 2004. In 2012 he started Rising Starz Sports Academy which is dedicated to the development of young athletes.
He coached the Bozeman Blackhawks travel baseball team which won 16 tournaments around the northwest 2010-2014.
